Congratulations! You are engaged and now ready to go searching for the perfect wedding hairstyle.
But where do you start?

Up, down, half up, sleek, messy, romantic? It can be an overwhelming experience!

Here are my top tips on choosing your perfect style.

1. Look at hairstyles that are similar in colour to your own hair.

If you choose a blonde hairstyle and you have dark hair, then your hair won’t look like your inspo pic.
The different blonde shades in an up do show texture and detail, whereas it’s difficult to see these details in dark hair.

2. Consider your hair length.

If you don’t have the hair length, are you comfortable wearing extensions? Your hairstylist can guide you towards a hairstyle suitable to your hair length.

3. Think about the style of your wedding dress.

Does your dress have a high neckline? A low back? Lots of details?

Your wedding dress style can determine which style you could go for. Wearing your hair all up if your dress has a high neckline. Wearing a ponytail style if you have a low cut back. Maybe Hollywood waves for elegant dresses.

These are just guidelines but your dress can make a difference to which hairstyle you go for.

4. What is comfortable for you?

If you have a sensitive scalp or don’t like products and backcombing, then look for more natural styles. If you want a glamorous all up style, then be prepared to have lots of sprays, powders and padding.

5. Book your hair trial

This is your opportunity to try out hairstyles, see what suits you, what your hair stylist recommends. Take photos, videos and see how long your hair lasts after your hair trial.
