Your bridal hair preview, sometimes called a hair trial, is a dedicated styling session where we design, test and perfect your wedding day look. It’s the ideal opportunity to see exactly how you’ll look as you walk down the aisle, so your wedding morning holds nothing but excitement.
What happens during your bridal hair preview?
During our time together, we will:
- Consider your wedding dress We look at your gown’s neckline and overall detail so your hairstyle complements it flawlessly.
- Tailor your chosen style We experiment with your favourite look and customise it to suit your face shape, hair texture and personal style.
- Add your accessories Bring your veil, hairpins or tiara and I’ll place them, so you can see the complete, final look come together.
- Photograph the results I take photos from every angle so you can review your hairstyle later and feel completely confident in your choice.
Previews take 1 to 2 hours, Monday to Thursday at my base near Llandeilo.

Bridal hair extensions
For brides looking to add extra fullness, my go-to choice is clip-in hair extensions. They’re comfortable, look completely natural, and instantly give you the volume and length needed to make your bridal style last all day.
I’m here to guide you through the entire process, including:
- Expert colour matching, so the extensions blend seamlessly with your natural hair
- Choosing the perfect length and thickness for your chosen style
- Sourcing the highest-quality sets, so you feel incredible on your wedding day
Your preview is the perfect time to try extensions in your chosen style, so you’ll know exactly how they look and feel before the big day.
Getting the most from your preview
A little preparation helps us make the most of our time together:
- Bring photos of your dress, especially the neckline and back detail
- Wear a top with a similar neckline to your gown if you can, so you get a true sense of the finished look
- Bring your accessories: your veil, hairpins, tiara or hair vine
- Save a few inspiration photos, including any styles you know you don’t like
- Arrive with hair washed the day before and fully dried. I’ll let you know if your hair type needs anything different.

Absolutely wonderful bridal hair stylist! Not only is Alaw a lovely person but she's so professional and a master of her craft. I was nervous looking for a stylist as I have short, thin and fine hair so felt I was limited. Having a trial put me at ease as Alaw was able to create the updo I had always wanted. Not only with hair but she was also so helpful on the morning of the wedding helping me get dressed when time was running a bit tight. During all of this she was a calming presence, never rushed and my hair stayed in place all day receiving many compliments!
