YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently Asked Questions

Planning your wedding hair should feel exciting, not overwhelming. Here are the questions brides ask me most. If yours isn’t here, I’d love to hear from you.

Booking & Payments

How do I secure my wedding date with you?

To officially reserve your wedding date, you will need to fill out our enquiry form, accept your bespoke quote, and pay a non-refundable booking fee (which is deducted from your final balance). Please note that enquiries do not hold your date; it is only secured once the fee has cleared and the contract is signed.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as you can. Popular dates, especially summer Saturdays, often book 12–18 months ahead. Get in touch as soon as you have your date and venue confirmed.

Is there a minimum booking requirement?

Yes. During peak wedding season (May to September), wedding morning bookings require a minimum of the bride plus three adult members of the bridal party.

When is the final balance due?

Your final balance is due 4 to 6 weeks before your wedding day. An updated invoice will be available on your wedding portal, and payments can be made securely by bank transfer.

The Bridal Preview

What is a bridal hair preview?

A bridal hair preview (sometimes called a hair trial) is a dedicated styling session where we design, test and perfect your wedding day look. We consider your dress, tailor your chosen style to suit you, place your accessories and photograph the finished result. Find out more on the Bridal Hair Previews page.

Do I need a preview?

I highly recommend one. It means we both know exactly what we're creating on your wedding morning, and you get to see the complete look, veil and all, before the big day.

When should I book my preview, and where does it take place?

I recommend scheduling your preview 1 to 3 months before your wedding, once your dress and accessories are chosen. Previews are held at my home, Monday to Thursday. Because weekends are dedicated to my wedding day brides, I'm unable to offer weekend previews. Some brides like to time their preview with another event, such as a hen do or engagement shoot, so they can enjoy their hair for the evening.

How long does a hair preview take and what should I bring?

A bridal hair preview usually takes between 1 and 2 hours. To get the most out of your session, please bring:
- Photos of your dress and your overall wedding vibe.
- Inspiration images of hair and makeup styles you love (and some you don’t!).
- Any hair accessories, veils, or jewellery you plan to wear.
- Please arrive with clean, dry hair.

Do you offer bridal hair extensions?

Yes. For brides wanting extra fullness or length, I recommend clip-in hair extensions. They're comfortable, look completely natural and give your style the volume to last all day.

I highly recommend waiting until your bridal hair preview before purchasing them. During your preview, I will cover everything from precise colour matching to selecting the ideal length and type for your desired look. Some extension types are incredibly difficult to style into bridal updos, so a professional recommendation ensures you invest in the perfect set.

Do you supply hair accessories?

I'm always happy to advise on veils, hairpins, vines and tiaras, and to place your own accessories at your preview and on your wedding morning.

Can I bring someone with me to my preview?

Absolutely! Parking is limited, so I kindly ask that you arrive in no more than two cars.

On the Wedding Day

Can you style my bridesmaids and family too?

Yes, I'd love to. I style bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and groom, and flower girls, and I'm experienced with large bridal parties. During peak season (May to September), wedding morning bookings require a minimum of the bride plus three adult members of the bridal party.

How long does styling take, and what time will you arrive?

It depends on the size of your bridal party and the styles chosen. We want your morning to feel relaxed, never rushed. I typically allocate 1.5 to 2 hours for the bride and 45 minutes per person for the bridal party.

Once your booking is confirmed, I'll create a detailed, bespoke wedding morning schedule working back from your ceremony time, with your hair finished in plenty of time for your photographer to capture you getting ready. You will have this a few weeks before your big day.

What happens if I have a very large bridal party or an early ceremony?

If your bridal party is large or your timeline requires an exceptionally early start, a second stylist will be needed to cut the prep time in half. To ensure everything runs smoothly, you will need to source and book this additional stylist independently. I can send a recommendation list to you and I will gladly provide the necessary timeline details for them to follow.

How should I prepare my hair for the wedding morning?

Unless I've recommended otherwise at your preview, wash your hair the night before your wedding. It saves time on the morning and gives me the best hair to work with. Wear a button-up top or dressing gown so you can change without disturbing your hair.

Will my hair last all day, even at a beach or clifftop wedding?

Yes. Every style is built to last from your ceremony to your first dance. Many of my brides marry by the coast here in Gower, so I know how to create styles that hold up beautifully to a sea breeze, with the right preparation, products and secure pinning.

Do you offer makeup?

I specialise in hair only, but I'm happy to recommend brilliant local makeup artists I work alongside.

Travel & Logistics

Do you travel to my venue, and how are travel costs calculated?

Yes, I travel directly to your home or wedding venue on the morning of your wedding, covering Gower, Swansea, Carmarthenshire and South West Wales. A travel fee is added to your quote for venues more than 20 miles from my base near Llandeilo.

Which areas do you cover?

I'm a mobile bridal hair stylist covering Gower, Swansea, Carmarthenshire and South West Wales. I travel to your home, venue or getting-ready location on the morning of your wedding.

Policies & Peace of Mind

What happens if you are too ill to make it to my wedding?

In the unlikely event of severe illness or an emergency, please don't worry. I am part of a trusted community of professional UK bridal hair and makeup artists, and I will do everything I can to arrange a replacement. I will pass all your preview notes, product lists and reference photos to an equally talented colleague so your morning remains completely stress-free.

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that plans can change. The initial booking fee is non-refundable. Cancellations made within 6 weeks of the wedding date are charged at 100% of the total balance, as it is highly unlikely the date can be rebooked at such short notice.

Still have a question?

I'm always happy to chat through your plans. Get in touch to check availability for your wedding date.
